This triptych explores the paradox between modern luxury and the fragility of human existence, symbolized by Tesla’s promise of cutting-edge safety, juxtaposed with the inevitability of failure and destruction. Each panel deconstructs the illusion of security provided by technology, using the imagery of crash-test dummies in escalating states of destruction.
Panel 1: "Intact"
The first panel shows a pristine, luxurious Tesla car, perfectly polished and gleaming, with four crash-test dummies sitting inside, symbolizing safety and the ideal of protection. The smooth, polished surface of the car reflects a society obsessed with perfection, while the dummies represent the illusion of security that technology promises us.
Panel 2: "In Crash"
The second panel depicts the car mid-collision, where the luxury is interrupted. The crash dummies are now visibly damaged—their bodies broken, seats cracked, airbags deployed. The image speaks to the vulnerability hidden behind the shiny exterior, offering a stark contrast to the previous image of comfort and control. This is the moment of reckoning, where technology fails to shield its users from harm.
Panel 3: "Exploded"
The final panel captures the catastrophic aftermath—Tesla engulfed in flames, its form distorted, and the dummies burning. The perfect car, once the symbol of wealth and status, is now reduced to a blazing ruin. This explosion represents the ultimate collapse of the illusion, where technology and consumerism’s promises of invincibility are laid bare. The dummies, once symbols of the human being protected by the system, now burn in the fiery chaos of reality.
