This series features toy soldiers sculpted in the form of the iconic Mickey Mouse, turning an innocent symbol of joy into a tool of chaos and power. The juxtaposition of vibrant, playful colors with the somber military camouflage backdrop creates an unsettling tension, highlighting the contrast between innocence and violence.
Through the use of these plastic toys, the project critiques the commercialization of pop culture and the normalization of war within contemporary society. Each figure poses with military weaponry in exaggerated, playful stances, asking viewers to reflect on how symbols of entertainment can be transformed into instruments of control, propaganda, and conformity.
The camouflage patterns—ever-shifting in their complexity—act as a metaphor for the blending of consumerist culture and militaristic ideologies, illustrating how one influences the other in today's world.
