Surveillance beaks (2025)

Surveillance Beaks is a series of provocative artworks that reimagine the world of birds through a surreal lens, blending nature with modern surveillance technology. Each piece in the series features a bird—an iconic representative of freedom and nature—equipped with a security camera mounted on its head, symbolizing the intrusion of technology into our natural world.

The project explores the juxtaposition between natural beauty and the invasive reach of surveillance systems, bringing attention to the pervasive nature of modern technology and its impact on both wildlife and human life. The birds, such as the White Stork, Indian Peafowl, Peregrine Falcon, and others, serve as a metaphor for society's increasing reliance on surveillance, questioning the balance between freedom and control in an increasingly monitored world.

The visual treatment in the series is heavily stylized, with intricate line work and bold color contrasts, imbuing the birds with a surreal yet striking quality. The birds are placed in their natural habitats but with the stark contrast of the camera, highlighting the tension between the organic and the artificial. The use of military camouflage on the cameras and the detailed textures further emphasizes the theme of surveillance and control.
